PARENTS CELEBRATES THE BIRTH OF THE FIRST GIRL IN 150 OF FAMILY HISTORY

No girls had been born into the Craddock family for almost 150 years.
But the long-running trend was broken after Simon and Mali Craddock discovered they were expecting a little girl.
Baby Poppy was born on March 6, and the family have since been celebrating the momentous occasion. The last female born into Simon’s family tree was Frances, the sister of his great-grandfather, John in 1866. The, 34-year-old, of East Cowes, on the Isle of Wight.said: 'We were thrilled when we found out Mali was having a baby girl.

'We didn’t know the sex of our first child until he was born, but we decided to find out before hand this time.' The couple who already have a son, Oliver, one, broke the news to the rest of the family and friends by throwing a blue and pink themed party.
Mr Craddock added: 'We played a little game by making muffins with a mixture of blue sponge for a boy and pink sponge for a girl, inside.
'Then we had a big cake covered in chocolate and inside there was pink sponge, which told everyone we were having a girl. Everyone was delighted.'
