Aston Villa are considering making a move for Manchester City's out-of-favour 30-year-old defender Joleon Lescott, who supported Villa as a boy.
Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish expects forward Wilfried Zaha, 20, to stay at Selhurst Park until the summer - but admits a big bid could tempt the Championship club to sell in January.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are in pole position to sign Zaha and the Old Trafford club are confident of signing the England international in the summer.
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has been quotes by Spanish newspaper AS as describing reports linking striker Radamel Falcao, 26, with Real Madrid as "totally false".
Tottenham will listen to offers for England international midfielder Jake Livermore, 23, this month, with London rivals QPR and Fulham monitoring the situation.
Newcastle have complied a shortlist of strikers to replace Chelsea-bound Demba Ba, with Marseille's Loic Remy, 26, one of the three international forwards being considered by the Magpies.
